Color Palette Inspiration: Columbia Center ~ Architecture Collection
The Columbus Center in Great Falls is one of the city’s most beloved buildings.
Originally home to the city hospital, the iconic 7-story building now houses over 150 small businesses. The stunning front door caught my eye. I love the rich and dramatic colors and how they contrast with the dark blue sky and white clouds reflected in the glass. The details in the door handle mimic the architectural style of the building.
The day we visited was partly cloudy, with just enough sunshine for the door to capture its gleam while closing after the latest guest. We went for lunch—Indian Food, a delightful find in this neck of the woods (or plains rather). I love that the restaurant uses the original hospital kitchen space.
I captured this shot while walking away from the building, a glanced back to look a the entrance once more. It was easy to feel nostalgic and even imagine what it might have been like to visit during an earlier decade.
I hope this color palette inspires you in your work and your travels to find inspiration when you least expect it.
